Invitation for the International Symposium for Redemptorist Publishing Houses
The International Symposium for Redemptorist Publishing Houses will be held in Hawkstone Hall, Shropshire, England from 8th to 12 April 2015. The programme is designed to provide a forum for dynamic, creative and thought-provoking ideas so as to empower and energise participants and kindle a new era for Redemptorist Publishing Houses; as well as reflecting on our Redemptorist charism.
The symposium will include presentations and debates addressing the following questions:
a) To share the Redemptorist charism of bringing the Word of God to the most abandoned and the needy at the level of Publications.
b) To examine and explore opportunities for Redemptorist publishing houses to further embed this charism and spirituality within the Education and other specialist sector
c) Through collaboration, what needs to be in place to support Redemptorist publishing houses and their management to share and shape their strategic priorities for the next 3-5 years so as to avoid duplication and conflict of interests?
d) How can we position Redemptorist publishing houses across the world as lead voices at the forefront of the Catholic publishing sector? What is our unique selling point?
e) St Alphonsus and technology! In this second decade of the 21 century, is digital publication a critical success factor for Redemptorist Publishing Houses? How to we engage with the young whilst at the same time, continue to meet the needs of an aging congregation?
The symposium will be delivered in English and if sufficient demand is received through the registration process, the organizers will endeavour to provide simultaneous translation in Spanish and Polish. A social programme will also be included so as to provide an opportunity for recreation and fellowship.
This International Symposium is being subsidized in an attempt to make it accessible to as many Redemptorist Units as possible. The total fee for full board from dinner on Wednesday 8th April until after lunch on Sunday 12 April is ₤ 320 (British pounds) per person
