Meeting of the Preparatory Commission for the Third Phase of the General Chapter

A meeting of the above Commission took place in Rome on the 6th and 7th of April. Present were Jacek Zdrzalek, Alberto Eseverri, Perdo López, Serafino Fiore, Kevin O’Neil and Ronnie McAinsh.

The days were spent reviewing documentation prepared by the General Government and the five Coordinators in preparation for all the Third Phase meetings to be held in the five Conferences.

Adaptations were made to suit the Conference of Europe. There is much to be discussed during the five days of the meeting which begins on the morning of September 4th and ends in the evening of September 9th.

The Coordinator is sending a letter to all the participants, including our lay partners.

Considerable work was also done on the logistics, so that the meeting in Saint Mary’s Monastery, Perth, Scotland will proceed smoothly.

The challenges of finding notaries, translators and others confreres to assist with the meeting were resolved, as well as working out a schedule for the liturgies, the small groups and passing on information about visas and other related matters.

The Third Phase meeting will be followed by the Assembly of the Conference of Europe, and then hopefully the opportunity to see at least a small part of Scotland.
