The Visit of the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in the CSSR

The end of the Jubilee Year of OMPH is coming soon. The main celebration for the closing of this year will take place in Saint Alphonsus Church in Rome on 27th June 2016.

The final day of the Jubilee Year will be also the first day of the Visit of the Icons of OMPH within the Conferences of the Congregation. The Icons blessed by the Pope will be given to each Conference on 27th June 2016 in Rome. The Conference of Europe would be entrusted with two icons.

The primary purpose of authentic copies of the icon traveling throughout the Redemptorist Conferences is to have Redemptorists recommit themselves to the mission originally given to us by Blessed Pope Pius XI, which was to “make Mary known” to the whole world.

Integral to this mandate will also be our commitment to use the icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help as an instrument in our mission of evangelization in the world today.

The Commission of OMPH in our Conference is preparing detailed plans of the pilgrimage in every Unit in the CRE and they will inform us about it soon.
