Plans for Secretariat for Formation of the CRE in 2015

The meeting of the Secretariat for Formation of the CRE took place in Rome, 3-4 March 2015. The members of the SF: Fr. Jacek Zdrzałek (the president of SF), Fr. Maurizio Iannuario (Naples Province), Fr. Metod Lukacik (Michalovce Viceprovince) discussed the preparations for the various formation gatherings in 2015. One working session was done through FaceTime with another member of SF – Fr. Ronald McAinsh (London Province) who was temporary ill in Scotland. The Secretariat invited also Fr. Sylwester Cabała (President of the Formation Secretariat of the Warsaw Province) as the person responsible for the preparation of the Month of Spiritual Renewal in Tuchów.

Among others the following was discussed:
– The preparation of the Month of Spiritual Renewal before the Perpetual Vows for the CRE. It will take place from 14th July to 5th of August 2015 in Tuchów (Poland). The course will be conducted in English, Italian and Polish with translations being available into these languages.
– The course (connected to the Month of Spiritual Renewal in Tuchów) is offered for confreres who are in the Transition to Ministry programme or who are in ministry for less than ten years. This special time for them will be from 20th July to 1st August 2015. The Secretariat recommends this opportunity as a special experience of the internationality of the Congregation.
– The meeting of the Formators from the CRE in Dublin (2-4 September 2015). The Secretariat invites all Vocation Promoters, Prefects of Postulancy and Prefects of Students, Novice Masters and other Redemptorists involved directly in initial formation. Some changes are to be expected among the formators in the CRE in this new quadrennium, so the meeting wants to introduce the new formators into formation work and also join the formation data-base. The meeting will try also to respond for the new challenges in formation at various levels.
– The challenges of formation in the CRE in the context of the General Chapter and of the Assembly of CRE in Porto (22-24 September 2015) many new elected Major Superiors from Europe will participate.
– The other formation meetings prepared by the General Secretariat for Formation and by the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life in Rome will take place in the coming 12 months. Details have already been sent to Major Superiors.
The Secretariat is convinced that the Year of Consecrated Life is a good opportunity to deepen our vocation at every level of initial and ongoing formation, and we should take advantage of this important celebration.
