Month of Spiritual Renewal in the CRE – 2016
For the fourth time the Interprovincial Month of Spiritual Renewal has started in the CRE. Six confreres have begun the common preparation for Perpetual Vows in our Redemptorist Community House in Kostolna-Záriečie on 4th July 2016.
The confreres belong to three Units: Rome Province, Warsaw Province and the Vice Province of Bratislava. For the first time this course is taking place in Slovakia. All previous courses were in Tuchów (Poland). It is also the first course after the formation decisions of the Superior General about the common stages of Initial Formation in The Congregation.
The programme prior to final profession is a formational moment and not simply a “run up” to the liturgical ceremony of candidates already approved for final vows (cf. n 62 Ratio Formationis Generalis). It is a time of discernment and of verification that precedes the definitive option of the candidate, his written petition, and the official admission granted by the (vice)provincial government. (Ratio Formationis Generalis nº 102).
The programme includes lectures and discussions about pastoral issues, Redemptorist spirituality, and other issues relating to the human dimension of religious and priestly formation. This year the speaker are: Fr. Alfonso Amarante, Naples-Rome (Moral theology and Redemptorists; Characteristics of Redemptorist spirituality); Fr. Ronald McAinsh, London (Theology of the Constitutions CSsR); Fr. Juraj Gendiar SChP (Relations in the religious community) Fr. Metod Lukáčik, Michalovce (retreat day); Fr. Peter Hertel, Bratislava (Jubilee Year of Mercy – the challenges for Redemptorists); Fr. Michal Zamkovsky, Bratislava (New Evangelization; collaboration with the laity); Fr. David Horáček, Prague, Jozef Michalčík, Prague (Redemptorist pastoral work with migrants and in hospitals) and Fr. Jacek Zdrzałek, Coordinator of the CRE (The beauty and the challenges of Religious Life; Conference of Redemptorists of Europe).
Lectures and prayers during the gathering are in three languages: Italian, Polish and Slovak, with simultaneous translation.
During the final week the participants will go to Kraków (Poland) where they will participate in World Youth Day.
Also eight confreres from Warsaw and from Bratislava, who are in the Transition to Ministry Programme, are participating in the first part of this course (from the 4th until 16th July 2016).
The course will finish on 2nd August.
