Meeting of the Secretariat for Evangelization of the CRE

The meeting of the Secretariat for Evangelization of the Conference of Redemptorists of Europe was held in San Gioacchino Community, in Rome (Italy) on 8th and 9th February 2016. All the members were present, except of Fr. Winfried Pauly, who had to be in Germany during these days. The Coordinator of the Conference also took part in the meeting.

The meeting started with a moment of sharing information about the life and work of the members of the Secretariat, and about the activities of various working groups of this Secretariat during the past year. All this information will be used during the First Phase of the General Chapter which will be held in Toruń (Poland) in April 2016.
The Secretariat did an evaluation of the work done during the past year: by the international community for the pastoral care of pilgrims on the “Camino de Santiago”, in Astorga (Spain); by the school of evangelization, organized by the Commission of the New Missionary Initiatives called “REDCAMP” in Venice (Italy) and by the participants of the First Interprovincial Meeting of Partnership in Mission of the CRE in Madrid (Spain).
All these meetings and workshops were excellent occasions to proclaim the Good News and to find something special for each participants.

The last part of the meeting was dedicated to preparations for activities planned for 2016.

Once again the pilgrim house in Astorga will welcome volunteers from various Units in Europe and will help pilgrims from all over the world in July and in August 2016.
World Youth Day in Cracow; the days in the Archdiocese of Wrocław and an Alphonsian Day in Kraków, will host young Redemptorists and youth associated with the Redemptorists, in July 2016.
The next meeting of Redemptorist Youth to be organised by the Madrid Province was also discussed.

During the last day of the meeting two members of the Secretariat: Fr. Pawel Drobot and Fr. Pedro Lopez, were sent out by Pope Francis as “Missionaries of Mercy” for the Jubilee Year.
