Assembly of the Conference of Europe
The Annual Meeting of the Assembly of the Conference of the Redemptorists in Europe meet in the Perpetual Help community in Madrid, from 28-30th October 2013. The Major superiors of each of the 18 units were present, as were vocals from larger units, and 4 translators. Two members of the General council were also in attendance, Jacek Dembek and Alberto Eseverri.
Interprovincial communities, responding to the apostolic priorities of the conference were the focus of the meeting. After discussion and discernment, the assembly approved the following proposals: to start a new mission in Albania, to open an interprovincial community in Luxembourg, working especially with immigrants and young people. It was also agreed to study the future of the Redemptorist presence in Denmark.
Some other new projects were discussed, the Pilgrim House in Astorga, was greatly valued and it will open its doors again in 2014; A colloquium about ministry to Migrants will be held in May 2014 in Germany; a Evangelisation Camp, to take place in Krakow in July 2014, to train missionaries and give a community experience; the new conference website (www.cssr-europe.com) which has been created by the CRE communications group.
The venue for the next meetings was decided. L’viv in September 2014, and Scotland in 2015
