IX Assembly of the CRE and Formation issues
During the First Phase of the General Chapter of the CRE in Torun, the IX Assembly of the CRE was also held.
The participants discussed how to implement the decisions of the General Government regarding Initial Formation.
The Interprovincial Novitiates and preparation for establishing a common studentate of the Conference in two languages (that is in English and in Italian) were discussed.
Following a decision of General Government, all Novitiates in our Congregation are to be Interprovincial Novitiates. Of course in some cases, Units may request an exemption.
The CRE plans to establish at least 3 Interprovincial Novitiates.
The Provinces of Madrid, Lisbon, France, Rome and Naples want to continue the Interprovincial Novitiate in Ciorani (Italy).
The English speaking novices from London, Dublin and Saint Clement would like to establish their own Novitiate in Europe or will cooperate with an English speaking Novitiate outside our continent.
The Slav speaking novices from the Units of Warsaw, Bratislava, Prague, Saint Gerard will participate in the Interprovincial Novitiate at the present Novitiate of the Warsaw Province in Lubaszowa (Poland)
The only one Greek-Catholic Novitiate in our Congregation (in Kokhavina, Ukraine) will form the novices from the Lviv Province and some novices from the Michalovce Vice-Province.
The Vice-Province of Michalovce will send their novices to Lubaszowa or Kokhavina.
The Province of Vienna-Munich will conduct the novitiate in the German language.
The participants of the Assembly decided to continue the preparation for a common English and Italian speaking studentate in Rome. The studentate is an invitation for all Units of the CRE to participate, not as an obligation, but as a act of common cooperation in initial formation.
