Letter of the Coordinator to Brothers in CRE (30.08.2013)
Letter of the Coordinator to Brothers in CRE
Rome, August 30, 2013
Dear Fr. Edmund and dear members of the Secretariat for Brothers,
Dear Brothers and all Participants of the First Common Meeting of the Brothers from CRE,
Best greetings to all of you from Rome.
Fidelity to our Redemptorist charism demands that we continually discern where the most abandoned are, especially the poor, and how we are called to serve them in Europe. In a special way we have to prepare now some proposals about future projects.
Your meeting is a time of thinking about our future and how we can prepare ourselves to the new challenges in Europe. There will be the possibility of sharing your experiences and of talking about your dreams. I hope that this time will be fruitful and every one of you will strengthen your vocation. This “Year for the Promotion of the Redemptorist Missionary Vocation” which we have just started is also the good possibility to do this.
As I wrote in my last letter (Letter from Coordinator nr 10) about this second stage of our work in our CRE – “We are trying to be together in order to meet each other, to learn how to cooperate more effectively for our common mission at diverse levels and to adjust to the different cultures by recognising the variety and richness of so many Units in CRE. Based on this experience, we wish to create new common apostolic projects in future.” I know that you meeting is exactly the part of looking for this new common apostolic projects in future.
Exactly in the same days when you are together in Vienna, the Council of CRE (Fr. Johannes Römelt, Fr. Pedro Lopez, Fr. Zdzisław Stanula and I) meets for planning the next steps of our missionary activities. We are preparing the next Assembly of our Conference in Madrid and the third stage of the work of our Conference.
I would like to thank especially to Fr. Edmund Hipp as the president of Secretariat for Brothers and all the members of this Secretariat for all preparations and work. Special thanks to Vienna Province, with the Provincial Fr. Lorentz Voith, for hosting all participants. Of course I would like to say thanks to every one of you for your work and for your contribution to this meeting.
I wish you all a very blessed days in Vienna and I promise my prayer for all of you.
In the Redeemer
Jacek Zdrzałek CSsR
